Born in Iran, raised in Denmark, and based in Toronto, Mahi Rahgozar's work moves across fiction and documentary.
Trained at the National Film School of Denmark, she entered the industry during the remarkable rise of Danish cinema internationally, and went on to edit award-winning films, including the Academy Award-winning short This Charming Man.
Since settling in Toronto in 2008, she has collaborated with directors on Canadian and international productions, joining projects from early development through final post-production. Her work often extends beyond the edit suite. She regularly contributes to story development and sound design, in close dialogue with writers, composers, and sound designers.
Mahi's editing is intuitive and character-driven, shaped by a deep sensitivity to emotional continuity and the clarity of a story's inner logic.
